WGU's Internship Program for Recent Graduates is designed to provide meaningful and impactful work experiences for students who have recently completed their degrees in areas such as education, IT, business, health professions, and data science. Interns will work on real-world projects that align with WGU’s mission of providing accessible, competency-based education, gaining practical skills and experience that prepare them for future full-time roles.
As an intern in WGU’s Recent Graduate Students Program, you will:
- Contribute to Real Projects: Work on hands-on projects that impact WGU’s digital learning platforms, academic operations, or student services, depending on your field of study and career interests.
- Collaborate with Teams Across Departments: Engage with various WGU teams, including product development, marketing, student support, and academic programs, to complete your assigned tasks.
- Assist with Data Collection and Analysis: Use data to support strategic decision-making, optimize processes, and improve systems or student outcomes.
- Develop and Test Solutions: Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of new solutions that enhance educational technology, student experience, or operational efficiency.
- Report and Present Findings: Prepare regular updates, presentations, and reports to communicate your progress, findings, and contributions to team members and leadership.
- Professional Growth: Take part in learning sessions, mentorship opportunities, and professional development workshops tailored to early-career professionals.
- Recent Graduate Status: Must have recently graduated (within the last year) with a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited program.
- Field of Study: Degree in education, information technology, business administration, healthcare, data science, or related field.
- Academic Performance: Demonstrated academic success with a GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred, though not required.
- Relevant Coursework or Projects: Completion of relevant coursework in your field of study, such as instructional design, software development, project management, or data analytics.
- Prior Work or Internship Experience: Previous internships, part-time jobs, or academic projects that showcase your skills and knowledge are highly beneficial.
