Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams across various departments, including operations, engineering, finance, marketing, and IT, to contribute to ongoing projects.
- Assist in analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing insights that support operational improvements and strategic decision-making.
- Participate in the development and implementation of key business strategies, helping to optimize Union Pacific’s logistics and supply chain operations.
- Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and internal communications for management and key stakeholders.
- Conduct research on industry best practices, new technologies, and innovative solutions to improve business performance.
- Assist in identifying process inefficiencies and proposing actionable solutions to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Attend team meetings and training sessions, contributing to discussions and gaining exposure to Union Pacific’s leadership.
- Assist with operational tasks such as route optimization, safety analysis, data management, and project coordination.
- Participate in company-sponsored events and activities that foster professional development and networking.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited U.S. institution.
- Preferably pursuing a degree in fields such as business administration, transportation/logistics, industrial engineering, computer science, finance, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Strong academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or higher).
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
Experience
- No prior professional work experience required, though any previous internships, projects, or coursework related to transportation, logistics, business, or engineering will be an advantage.
- A demonstrated interest in the transportation or logistics industry is beneficial.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools and software is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
