Description
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is offering exciting internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students for the Summer of 2025. This internship program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, business, environmental science, IT, finance, and more. Interns will have the chance to work with industry professionals, gain valuable insights into TVA’s operations, and contribute to meaningful projects that support the TVA mission of providing clean, reliable, and affordable energy to the Tennessee Valley.
Responsibilities
- Project Involvement: Assist in a variety of projects across different departments such as engineering, IT, environmental science, and business operations.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research, data analysis, and help interpret findings to support business decisions and technical solutions.
- Collaboration: Work alongside TVA employees to gain insights and contribute to ongoing work in areas such as sustainability, power generation, grid modernization, and environmental management.
- Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project progress and key learnings for internal teams.
- Learning and Development: Attend various training sessions and workshops designed to enhance your skills in both technical and professional areas.
- Networking: Participate in networking events and career development activities with TVA professionals and other interns.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Candidates must be pursuing a degree in a related field, such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, IT, Finance, or similar.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least two years of study by the time of the internship.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in a relevant program.
Experience
- No prior work experience required, but previous internships or volunteer experiences in relevant fields are a plus.
- A strong academic record and involvement in extracurricular activities will be considered an advantage
Skills
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of engineering tools or data analysis software is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with an ability to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and contribute to innovative solutions.
