Description

The PIH Internship Students Organizations Program & Opportunities 2025 aims to provide a transformative, hands-on experience for students passionate about healthcare, social justice, and global health. Interns will contribute to the mission of Partners In Health (PIH) by supporting organizational and programmatic efforts in communities around the world. Through this internship, students will gain valuable experience working alongside professionals committed to improving health equity, while developing skills that will support their future careers in public health, social impact, or related fields.

Responsibilities
  • Program Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of health programs and initiatives aligned with PIH’s mission.
  • Research & Data Collection: Contribute to research projects by collecting and analyzing data related to healthcare access, social determinants of health, and community health initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Support PIH’s outreach efforts by engaging with local communities, providing educational resources, and promoting health literacy.
  • Administrative Assistance: Assist with scheduling, organizing meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining records related to the program’s activities.
  • Content Creation: Help develop materials (presentations, newsletters, reports) to communicate program results and impact to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Event Coordination: Support in organizing events, workshops, and webinars aimed at raising awareness about PIH’s work and health justice.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including public health, advocacy, operations, and fundraising departments.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (preferably in Public Health, Global Health, Social Sciences, or a related field).
  • Strong academic standing (minimum GPA requirement may apply, depending on location).
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare, social justice, global health, or public health.
  • Availability to commit to a full-time or part-time internship based on the program's duration (typically 3-6 months).
Experience
  • Previous experience in volunteer work, internships, or projects related to healthcare, social justice, or community development is preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to working in cross-cultural settings or international development projects is a plus.
  • Experience with data collection, analysis, or research in a public health context is advantageous.
Skills
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to approach challenges creatively and critically.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data analysis tools (SPSS, Excel, etc.). Knowledge of digital tools for remote collaboration (Slack, Zoom) is a plus.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding and respect for diverse cultures and communities.
