Description

The purpose of the Medtronic Summer Internship Program is to inspire and equip students with industry knowledge, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in medical device development. Interns will work within cross-functional teams, contributing to projects that support patient care and healthcare innovation, preparing them for a future in healthcare and medical technology.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on real-world projects in areas such as engineering, research and development, quality assurance, marketing, or regulatory affairs.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support project development and process improvements.
  • Assist in designing, testing, and evaluating medical devices or software applications.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support project milestones and regulatory submissions.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and technical reviews.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including organizing project files and maintaining accurate records.
  • Attend workshops and training sessions to gain knowledge on medical technology, healthcare industry standards, and Medtronic’s business functions.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or equivalent academic standing.
  • Completion of at least two years of college coursework before the start of the internship.
Experience
  • Previous internship experience in a healthcare or technology-related field is an advantage but not required.
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare, medical devices, or technology innovation.
Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and, for technical roles, familiarity with programming languages or CAD software as applicable.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
