Description

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Summer Internship Students Program 2024 offers a unique opportunity for highly motivated students to gain hands-on experience in the public sector while contributing to the FTC’s mission of promoting fair competition and protecting consumers. Interns will work with dedicated teams, participate in real-world projects, and develop essential skills that will enhance their academic and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Assist FTC staff in conducting research, data analysis, and investigations related to consumer protection and antitrust issues.
  • Support case investigations and legal proceedings, including gathering and reviewing evidence, documentation, and relevant materials.
  • Draft memos, reports, and other documents to contribute to case analyses and decision-making processes.
  • Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and strategic planning sessions, providing insights and updates.
  • Engage in projects aimed at improving FTC procedures, regulations, and outreach efforts.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned to support FTC teams in daily operations.
Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program (law, economics, business, or related fields preferred).
  • Strong academic performance with coursework relevant to the FTC’s work.
  • Demonstrated interest in public service, consumer protection, or economic policy.
Experience
  • Previous internships or work experience in government, law, economics, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
  • Experience with research, data analysis, or case work (academic or professional) is beneficial.
Skills
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic research tools.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
