Description
The Fort Myers Airport Summer Internship Program 2025 offers students the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aviation industry while contributing to the day-to-day operations of Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Interns will work alongside professionals in various departments, acquiring valuable skills, and knowledge in airport operations, customer service, logistics, and aviation management.
- Assist in daily airport operations, including customer service, ticketing, security, and baggage handling.
- Support airport logistics, managing and coordinating transportation services, and assisting with parking operations.
- Participate in terminal and facility management tasks, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and maintain airport operations in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Aid in data collection, reporting, and administrative tasks for various airport departments.
- Assist with special airport events or projects as needed.
- Observe and learn from experienced airport professionals across multiple departments.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program with a focus on aviation, business management, public administration, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 or equivalent.
- Strong interest in airport operations, aviation management, or related industries.
Experience
- Previous internship experience or part-time employment in customer service, hospitality, or aviation is a plus but not required.
- No prior experience in airport operations is necessary, as training will be provided.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
