The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Internship Program 2025 for graduate research students offers a unique chance to engage with federal energy policy, regulation, and analysis. - Conduct research and analysis on energy markets, infrastructure, policy, and regulations.
- Assist in reviewing filings and providing support for energy policy analysis and regulatory projects.
- Collaborate with FERC analysts and policy advisors to assess and draft reports on key energy sector issues.
- Participate in data gathering, processing, and analysis for projects related to electricity, natural gas, hydroelectric power, and oil pipeline sectors.
- Help prepare policy briefings, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Attend FERC meetings, seminars, and workshops related to energy regulation and policy.
- Enrollment in a graduate program focused on Energy Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Demonstrated interest in energy regulation, public policy, or environmental issues.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States and ability to pass a background check.
- Prior experience in energy research, public policy analysis, or regulatory work is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with research methodologies, policy analysis, and/or data analytics is advantageous.
- Knowledge of energy markets, environmental regulations, or policy development is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and policy documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data analysis software or programming languages (e.g., R, Python) is preferred.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
