CSX Summer Internship Finance Program 2025
Description
The CSX Finance Internship Program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience in finance and corporate strategy within the transportation industry. This role will allow interns to explore various areas of finance, including financial planning and analysis, corporate accounting, investment analysis, and more. Interns will engage in critical projects that support CSX's goals and objectives while gaining a deeper understanding of finance within a large corporation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing financial data and creating reports for management review.
- Support monthly financial close activities and budget forecasting.
- Participate in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluations.
- Conduct research on industry trends and market conditions to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and strategy, to understand the financial impacts of business decisions.
- Prepare presentations and financial summaries for executive-level meetings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Completion of at least junior year by Summer 2025.
- Strong academic performance, with a minimum GPA requirement (varies by position).
- Availability for a 10-12 week, full-time internship during Summer 2025.
Experience
- Previous internship or relevant work experience in finance, accounting, or business analysis is a plus.
- Experience with financial software, such as Excel, SAP, or similar, is beneficial.
Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
