The Lincolnshire Police Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who are interested in a career in law enforcement, public safety, and community service. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience and insight into the daily operations of a leading police force. You will have the chance to support various departments, engage with police officers and staff, and contribute to the delivery of effective policing services within the community.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily operations of various police departments (e.g., Crime, Traffic, Community Engagement, Digital Forensics).
  • Support officers with administrative tasks including data entry, report preparation, and record management.
  • Observe and participate in police patrols, investigations, and other fieldwork under the guidance of experienced officers.
  • Help organize and participate in community outreach programs and crime prevention initiatives.
  • Attend briefings, training sessions, and team meetings to learn about operational processes.
  • Provide general support in the management of case files, evidence tracking, and updating databases.
  • Collaborate with different internal teams to ensure the smooth running of police operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Criminal Justice, Law, Forensic Science, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in law enforcement or public service.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older by the internship start date.
  • A valid driver’s license is preferable, but not essential.
Experience
  • No prior police or law enforcement experience is required, though any relevant voluntary or work experience in public safety, community engagement, or related fields would be advantageous.
  • Experience in office-based tasks, customer service, or teamwork is desirable.
Skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • A keen interest in policing, community safety, and public service.
