Responsibilities
- Internship Development: Work closely with Kingsborough's Career Services team to design meaningful and educational internships aligned with students' academic programs.
- Mentorship: Supervise and guide interns in their daily tasks, ensuring they gain practical skills and professional knowledge.
- Project Assignments: Assign relevant projects that contribute to the company’s operations while providing learning opportunities for the interns.
- Feedback and Evaluation: Provide regular performance feedback, including formal evaluations at the end of the internship term.
- Networking Opportunities: Facilitate opportunities for interns to network with professionals in the industry, enhancing their career development.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to college internship guidelines and maintain accurate documentation related to the internship process.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of a high school diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Industry Expertise: Must have a strong background in the field related to the internship offered (e.g., business, healthcare, technology, arts, engineering, etc.).
- Work Environment: Ability to offer a professional and supportive work environment conducive to learning and development.
Experience
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years in the relevant industry or business sector.
- Supervisory Experience: Proven experience in mentoring or managing staff, ideally with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities for student interns.
- Experience with Internship Programs: Previous involvement in hosting or managing internship programs is a plus but not required.
