The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is offering an exciting opportunity for students and recent graduates through the TCEQ Internship Hiring Program for 2025. This program is designed to provide hands-on experience in environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals in various departments to support TCEQ’s mission to protect the environment and public health in Texas.
- Assist with research and analysis of environmental regulations and policies.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of environmental programs.
- Contribute to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental data.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in reviewing permit applications and compliance data.
- Participate in fieldwork, site inspections, and environmental assessments.
- Collaborate with staff members to support ongoing environmental projects and initiatives.
- Attend team meetings and provide input on current and upcoming projects.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree program in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Public Policy, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- Strong academic record and interest in environmental issues.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for fieldwork and site visits).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior internship experience or coursework related to environmental science or regulatory practices is preferred but not required.
- Experience with data analysis, research, or report writing is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory work or field assessments will be considered an advantage.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze complex data and present findings in a clear, concise manner.
