Brookdale Community College is excited to offer internship opportunities for students in 2025 in the field of Information Technology and related disciplines. This program is designed to provide students with real-world experience and exposure to a wide variety of IT operations, systems management, and support tasks. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to projects that support the college's IT infrastructure, systems, and services while gaining valuable skills to kick-start your career in Information Technology.

Responsibilities

As a Brookdale Community College IT Intern, your responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting the IT department with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Providing support for the maintenance, configuration, and installation of computer hardware and software.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of system upgrades, patches, and improvements.
  • Supporting the management of the college's internal network infrastructure and ensuring its security.
  • Assisting with the creation and documentation of technical procedures and support materials.
  • Providing help desk support to students, faculty, and staff for technology-related inquiries.
  • Assisting with data backup, data recovery, and system monitoring tasks.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on IT projects and initiatives.
  • Participating in team meetings, presentations, and contributing to brainstorming sessions for future IT solutions.
  • Gaining exposure to cloud computing, cybersecurity, and other emerging IT trends.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or related fields.
  • Applicants must be in their sophomore or junior year of their degree program at the time of application.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, networking, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) and office software (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • U.S. work authorization is required.
Experience
  • No prior work experience is required, but academic coursework or projects related to IT systems, software development, networking, or computer troubleshooting will be beneficial.
  • Previous experience with internships, volunteer work, or IT-related extracurricular activities is a plus.
Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge of IT hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office software.
