SeaTac’s Summer Internship Program 2025 offers a unique opportunity for students to gain real-world experience in a municipal environment. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals across various departments, learning about airport and city operations while contributing to impactful projects. This program is designed to foster talent by providing participants with exposure to the skills and insights needed to succeed in a public service career.
As a SeaTac Intern, you will:
- Assist with projects specific to your assigned department, such as Operations, Public Relations, Environmental Services, Engineering, or Customer Service.
- Support day-to-day tasks, such as data collection, research, and report preparation.
- Collaborate with team members on project planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Engage in weekly intern seminars, networking events, and site tours to gain a broader understanding of SeaTac’s operations and culture.
- Present findings and achievements in an end-of-summer presentation to department leaders and program mentors.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in a relevant field (such as Public Administration, Business, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Communications, or Aviation).
- Expected graduation date of 2025 or 2026.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Prior internship experience or relevant coursework in your field of study is preferred but not required.
- A demonstrated interest in public service, transportation, aviation, or community development is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
